According to our sources, these photographs were taken in Budapest in September 1986, supposedly at the 36th Conference: Co-Existence, Co-Operation and Common Security.
Do you have any information about the location and the people inside these photographs? It would be really helpful to us in verifying the photographs.

ReplyDeleteThese are definitely at the Hungary 1986 conference. I can see myself centre in a blue sweater next to someone wearing red. There are various people I could name in the picture if that would be helpful. The venue was some kind of trade union conference centre which is now a hotel - see http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g274887-d497563-Reviews-Hotel_Agro_Panorama_Kft-Budapest_Central_Hungary.html for a picture of the entrance steps where the pic was taken.
In the photo of the group of women, the one with the pink blouse is Sandra Pinnavaia who was involved with both US and UK Student Pugwash at the time, the woman with the handbag was a Russian student and the one in black and white I think a Finnish student.
