The copyright on the back of this group shot details Mazo, Santander, Spain.
There are no listed Pugwash events in Spain from this time.
We think this was 1950s, do you know what this event may have been?
We can see Joseph Rotblat second from the right in the front row. Do you recognise anybody else? Could the man to Professor Rotblat's right be the same man as img090 (1960s 'Tropical Paradise')?
If you have any information please email us at pugwashphotoarchive@gmail.com (quote img052) or comment below this post.
The first person on the far right is Maciej Nalecz.
Maciej Nalecz joined Pugwash in 1972. He attended 74 events, including conferences, symposiums and workshops.
Do you recognise anybody else?
Do you know which meeting this was?
We think that the person on the far left of the front row is Ogunlade Davidson. If so could it have been the 31st Conference Arms Limitations: The Search for Peace in a World in Crisis in Banff, Canada, 1981?
Thanks to modern cameras, we have an exact date: 21st September 1996. It was the Fifth Workshop of the Pugwash Study Group on the Implementation of the Biological and Chemical Weapons Conventions, held in Geneva.
Unfortunately we cannot read the name tags. Obviously we can see Martin Kaplan, Francesco Calogero and Joseph Rotblat in the front row.
